I'm a musician, and the song I wrote is called "Call of the Wheel". It's an ode to the writers' road, and is about reading the book and living the rock'n'roll dream vicariously through Dave's story, and staying at home instead of touring. (As well, it includes the adventures one can live by reading other books). If you want to add this song to your argument in any way, I'd be happy to share it with you.
